
Ohanapecosh Rock Campground: Mount Rainier National Park
Ohanapecosh Rock Campground is located on State Route 123, four miles north of State Route 12 of the banks of the Ohanapecosh River. The campground is the largest in the park with 188 campsites for RV or tent camping. The Ohanapecosh River is lined with thick, old growth Douglas fir trees and other evergreens. The most popular campground in the park, Ohanapecosh Rock Campground is convenient to both the Paradise and Sunrise areas. Numerous hiking trails originate both in and nearby the campground. Ohanapecosh Rock Campground is rather rustic but now offers accessible sites plus fresh cold drinking water, flush toilets, picnic tables, firepits and an amphitheater. For visitors who would like to learn more about natural and cultural history, the Ohanapecosh Visitor Center is close by as well.
Campers are advised to use extra caution with food storage, as hungry animals also frequent the campground and surrounding areas.
NOTE: Motor homes over 32 feet and trailers over 27 feet are not allowed to enter the campground. Turns on loop roads are tight and vehicle damage is likely to occur.
Generators: Generators may only be used between the following hours: 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., noon to 2 p.m., and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
NOTE: Loop E of Ohanapecosh Rock Campground is closed to generator use at all times.
Additional Fees: Although campsites are available on a first come, first served basis, you can reserve campsites at Ohanapecosh Rock campground by visiting the Recreation.gov web site.
