Cougar Rock Campground: Mount Rainier National Park
Cougar Rock Campground is located 14 miles east of Ashford, Washington, on State Route 706, also known as Paradise Road. Cougar Rock Campground is comparatively rustic, but has drinking water, flush toilets, picnic tables and an amphitheater plus ranger led educational programs for the whole family. Campers are advised to use extra caution with food storage, as hungry animals also frequent the campground and surrounding areas.
NOTE: Motor homes over 35 feet and trailers over 27 feet are not allowed to enter the campground. Turns on loop roads are tight and vehicle damage is likely to occur.
Generators: Generators may only be used between the following hours: 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., noon to 2 p.m., and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
NOTE: Loop E of Cougar Rock campground is closed to generator use at all times.
Additional Fees: Although campsites are available on a first come, first served basis, you can reserve campsites at Cougar Rock campground by visiting the Recreation.gov web site.
